With a Fitila Procession in Badagry, the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture marked the 2022 International Day for

Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition.

Speaking about the significance and importance of the procession, the Honorable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Pharm.


(Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said that it was intended to serve as a way of remembering those who perished during the obnoxious

slave trade era.
