Recently, His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, graciously received H.E. Mohammed Fouad, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nigeria, at Lagos House, Ikeja. The warm and productive courtesy visit marked a significant moment in Lagos-Egypt relations, as both leaders engaged in meaningful dialogue on deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed Lagos State’s readiness to build strategic partnerships that support the State’s long-term vision for a Greater Lagos Rising. Their conversation focused on shared priorities - from trade and investment to cultural exchange, innovation, and broader socio-economic development - further underscoring Lagos’ growing role as a bridge between Africa and the Arab world.

For the Lagos State Office of Diaspora Affairs (LASDA), engagements like this advance our mission to connect Lagos with global opportunities and strengthen relationships that benefit Lagosians at home and in the diaspora. Deepening diplomatic ties remains a vital pillar in expanding Lagos’ global footprint and fostering inclusive, sustainable growth.
We look forward to the outcomes of this engagement and the new avenues of cooperation it will open for Lagos and the Egyptian community.
