In a dynamic stride towards positioning Lagos as the heartbeat of Africa’s digital and innovation revolution, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently hosted a high-level meeting with Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), and Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), at Lagos House, Ikeja.
The meeting, which focused on technology, innovation, and digital transformation, underscores Lagos State’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of Africa’s tech evolution. These conversations are especially critical as Lagos continues to attract global partners and stakeholders who share in the State’s ambitious vision for inclusive progress and a thriving digital economy.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described the engagement as “a productive discussion on how Lagos can continue to lead the way in Africa’s digital future,” emphasizing the importance of collaboration with globally recognized institutions like the DWTC and strategic national agencies like NITDA.

Lagos has steadily emerged as a continental tech powerhouse, home to over 400 startups and the largest innovation ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa. The city’s digital infrastructure, youthful population, and investor-friendly policies make it a compelling destination for foreign direct investment, especially in the digital and creative economies.
As Lagos advances on this trajectory, partnerships that bridge international expertise and local innovation will be critical. Lagos State Office of Diaspora Affairs (LASDA) remains committed to spotlighting these global alliances and ensuring that Lagosians in the diaspora are actively part of shaping this shared digital future.
