Hey Lagosian! Explore Lagos with us!
The focus today is one of Lagos’ top historic landmarks; The Jaekel House.
The Jaekel House is a two story colonial home located In Ebute Metta, Lagos, Nigeria. It was erected in 1898 on a huge plot of manicured ground and was named after Francis Jaekel OBE, a former superintendent of the Nigerian Railway Corporation who resigned in the 1970s after nearly three decades of service.
One of my top favourite things about the house is that it also now functions as a little Museum. A walk through the museum immerses you in a rich display of sporting relics (tools, equipment, attires etc.), photographic archives ranging from the 1940s to the 1970s of individuals, places, and historical events in pre- and post-independence Nigeria.
Amazing right? Keep swiping to see more pictures of this beautiful landmark!
