The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, on Wednesday, visited the site for the proposed ultramodern ICT Park in Katangowa in Agbado-Oke Odo LCDA to assess the level of work. Salako expressed reservations about the slow pace of work and urged the Developer, Messrs Bridgeway Limited to brace up and deliver the project on schedule, adding that the company should not leave room for doubts in its capability to deliver the project. The Commissioner expressed concern that the developer should keep to the terms of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement to develop the facilities with all ancillary services. He observed that the idea of key-clamps was conceived by the Government as a temporary abode for the displaced traders in the erstwhile Katangowa market, urging the Developer to respect the welfarist intention of the present administration in implementing the resettlement of the traders. While enjoining the Developer to cultivate harmonious relationship among all groups and interests in Katangowa, Salako emphasised that the Lagos State Government was hopeful that the project would birth on time for the people to start reaping its many benefits such as employment opportunities, economy of scale and decongestion of the Computer Village, Ikeja among others. Recall that an ICT hub in Katangowa was embarked upon by the Lagos State Government to decongest the Computer Village, Ikeja and address challenges of growth. #LASG #ForAGreaterLagos
