The Acting General Manager, New Towns Development Authority (NTDA), Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji was today given an Award for Excellence in Leadership by members of a non-governmental organisation, Fight Against Corruption Organisation (FACO).
Tpl. Aboyeji, while receiving the award, thanked the organisation for the laudable recognition, promising not to renege in his duties of ensuring the completion of all projects under the supervision of his office.
He also maintained that the NTDA will continue to operate an open-door policy as part of efforts to ensure that the citizens have easy access to the Agency, in line with the policy of the present administration.
Earlier, the Chairman of FACO, Dr. Francis Shopekan, who led other members of the organisation to the office of the Acting Manager for the presentation, said that the award was meant to appreciate Tpl. Aboyeji for his excellent leadership style and an unrelenting commitment to propagating the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda of the present administration in the State.
He said it was commendable that despite the fact that corruption, bribery and dishonesty had eaten deep into the fabric of our society, Tpl. Aboyeji remained committed to upholding virtues worthy of emulation.
Shopekan expressed the willingness of the organisation, being at the frontline in the fight against corruption, to partner with some agencies of the State Government in ensuring that a good and lasting legacy is left for posterity. He urged the awardee not to rest on his oars but encourage subordinates to embrace dedication, hard work, honesty and integrity as a way of life and not just come into government service for selfish purposes.
