The Lagos State Government has warned Developers in the State to desist from cutting roads to create access to their property.

This warning was issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako during routine monitoring of the Bourdillon axis and environs in Ikoyi.

Dr. Salako expressed the Lagos State Government's disenchantment at any act capable of setting the State back in its infrastructure development drive, such as the flagrant and unapproved cutting of roads witnessed in some parts of the State, especially in Ikoyi.

He expected that actors in the built environment ought to know the implications of such indiscriminate act towards the sustainability of the environment and registered his disappointment that the same group was involved in perpetrating the illegal act.

While noting that the cutting of any road must be done strictly with the approval of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Salako warned that any developer found engaging in the act indiscriminately will be made to face the wrath of the law.
