The New Afrika Shrine is a replacement for the old Afrika Shrine that was built and burnt down in the 90s. It was reconstructed in honour of the music legend Fela by his son Femi Kuti and as such, it is home to quality music, bubbly live performances by the legend’s sons Femi Kuti, and Seun Kuti and their agile dancers, beautiful photo galleries that take us back in time to the days of the Legend. The shrine is an open-air entertainment center situated in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, and is open to people from all walks of life, from within and out of Lagos.

The Shrine serves as the location of the annual Felabration music festival that commemorates the life of Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The Fela feel is always supplied in abundance on Thursdays and Fridays when the legend’s sons perform live on the shrine’s stage.

The sounds, the sights, and the feelings that linger in the shrine mix beautifully with the art and music that it houses within its walls to give every visitor a worthwhile and memorable experience.
The Shrine is open all seven days of the week from 9 am to late at the night..
If you want to know about the late Afro King, then a visit in the daytime is better advised, but if you want to experience the richness of Afro Music, then a visit in the nighttime is a good choice.
