Also known as the "Aro Meta" or "The three wise men", the Idejo Statue is a white granite
sculpture of three Lagos White cap Chiefs of the Idejo family created in 1991. It is one of the
most famous monuments and it depicts the three types of greeting that are common
amongst Eko Chiefs when greeting a King.
Each chief is clothed in intricately tied white wrappers with the ends flung across the left shoulder allowing the gesture of the right arm. The statues which are 12 feet tall have clenched fists that typify the supremacy of the right hand over the left hand as the right hand signifies acceptance and respect while the left is connected with unsavory tasks.
