Lagos State continues to expand its international partnerships, welcoming His Excellency Alfredo Miranda Ortiz, Ambassador of Mexico to Nigeria, for a productive courtesy visit at Lagos House Ikeja on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the Ambassador and held constructive discussions on areas of mutual interest, focusing on opportunities to deepen cooperation between Lagos and Mexico, particularly in trade and cultural exchange.
The engagement reflects Lagos State’s commitment to building strategic international partnerships that drive economic growth, foster innovation, and strengthen cross-cultural understanding. Enhanced trade relations could open new markets for Lagos-based businesses while attracting Mexican investment in sectors such as manufacturing, technology, agriculture and the creative industries

Cultural collaboration also presents promising opportunities. Exchanges in arts, music, film, education, and tourism can further enrich the vibrant multicultural identity of Lagos while strengthening people-to-people connections between both regions.
For the global African diaspora, including communities with ties to Latin America, these diplomatic engagements create valuable avenues for collaboration.
The administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu remains committed to positioning Lagos as a premier global hub for business, culture, and innovation. Partnerships such as this with Mexico highlight the state’s proactive approach to international diplomacy and its vision for inclusive and sustainable growth.

As Lagos continues to build strong global connections, members of the diaspora are encouraged to stay engaged and explore how emerging opportunities can support investments, partnerships, and cultural exchange.
