The Lagos State Government, under the visionary leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, continues to expand the global footprint of our State through purposeful international engagements and strategic economic partnerships.
Recently, Governor Sanwo-Olu received a delegation from the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Lagos House, Marina, in a high-level meeting focused on strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Lagos and France.
The meeting explored pathways for renewed collaboration between both economies, emphasizing shared prosperity and sustainable development. This initiative aligns with the Governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Development Agenda, which seeks to build an inclusive, innovation-driven Lagos that offers opportunity and growth for all.

Key Focus Areas of Discussion
Trade and Investment Expansion: Exploring new markets and investment channels between Lagos and France, unlocking opportunities for businesses, investors, and Lagosians at home and in the diaspora.
Innovation and Job Creation: Partnering on knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and sustainable investments that promote youth employment and economic inclusion.
Strategic Alliances: Leveraging Lagos’ dynamic business environment, robust infrastructure, and global diaspora network to foster mutually beneficial collaborations.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that, “Partnerships like this are vital to our vision for a stronger, more inclusive economy that supports innovation, creates jobs, and attracts sustainable investment to Lagos.”
This engagement underscores Lagos State’s commitment to leveraging diaspora links, international collaboration, and foreign direct investment to accelerate socio-economic transformation. It also reaffirms Lagos’ readiness to partner with credible institutions that share its vision for a prosperous and globally connected city-state.

At the Lagos State Office of Diaspora Affairs (LASDA), our mandate remains clear - to serve as a bridge between Lagos and its global diaspora community. We recognize that partnerships extend beyond financial capital; they bring ideas, talent, and innovation that power transformation.
The collaboration between Lagos and the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry exemplifies this spirit. France offers a tradition of enterprise, global networks, and technological expertise. Lagos, on its part, stands as Africa’s economic heartbeat - a city of resilience, enterprise, and boundless opportunity. Together, these strengths create a platform for growth in trade, infrastructure, technology, and sustainable development.

This dialogue with the Franco-Nigerian Chamber is not a one-off event; it marks the beginning of a series of strategic engagements aimed at positioning Lagos as a global hub of commerce, culture, and innovation. As Governor Sanwo-Olu consistently affirms, “Lagos cannot transform in isolation - our progress is stronger through partnerships.”
We therefore extend an open invitation to members of the diaspora, international investors, and development partners to be part of this journey. Let us harness our collective strength, global connections, and the Lagos spirit of enterprise to build a future that works for every Lagosian - at home and abroad.
