Lagos Organizes Three-Day Training On IPSAS For Auditors

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of the State Auditor-General, has organised a Three-Day Training on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) for Auditors, which commenced on Wednesday at the State Treasury Office's Resource Centre, CBD Alausa, Ikeja.

The Acting State Auditor-General, Mr. Adewuyi Moshood Adewale, while declaring the workshop opened, reiterated the importance of International Public Sector Accounting Standards to the Auditors in the course of carrying out their audit assignments.

He said the purpose of the training is to acquaint the Auditors with sections of IPSAS that will be beneficial for their assignment, stressing the need for Auditors to equip themselves with relevant sections of the IPSAS to be able to use it effectively when discharging their duties, particularly the ones involving Financial Statements that are germane to Audit assignments.
