Hey Lagosian! The location in the spotlight today is The Kalakuta Museum in Ikeja, Lagos!

The museum gets much of its authenticity from its location—the original three-story house where Fela lived in Kalakuta Republic; the famous compound that he declared an independent, self-governing state in defiance of Nigeria's military regime.

The Museum thoroughly educates you on the life of the legend Fela as it is filled with his personal items and mementos from his life and career like his brightly coloured signature tenor saxophone, album covers, stage suits, clothes and murals. A noteworthy bit about the museum is that it contains the untouched bedroom of Fela, since his death in 1997.

Have you ever been to the Museum?
