Lagos Diaspora Destination: Point of No Return

Point of No return also known as Gberefu Island is a populated historical island located in Badagry. During the colonial slave trade, the Point of No Return was the location where slaves were shipped to an unknown destination.

Once it opened in 1473 during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, the island became an important slave harbor. A visit to the Island will aid a deeper understanding of history of slavery and how the slave trade operated. It will also help you in appreciating freedom and seeing humanity's depravity against humanity.
