Freedom Park is situated on the grounds of the ruins of Her Majesty's Broad Street Prisons. The
park was built after the destruction of the Queen's prison to preserve the cultural heritage of Nigerians.
The then prison ground-now a delightful park takes its visitors on a pleasant journey into the past with the many monuments of notable
historic characters on its grounds.
Freedom Park also has been most celebrated as an Arts and Culture space in Nigeria and beyond its borders because of its detailed and heightened commitment to arts. The park perfectly merges history and fun as it not only
serves as a historic and national landmark but also a recreational centre with a wide array of shops and bars that cater to the needs of its visitors.
