Shitta Bey Mosque was established in 1892, and is one of the oldest mosques in Nigeria. In 2013, it was declared a National Monument by Nigerian Commission for Museums and Monuments. The mosque is considered an important historical legacy, and it serves as a religious learning centre for Muslims.
